For 30 years Home Safe has been
providing pioneering care and treatment
to Palm Beach County’s most vulnerable
population, abused, neglected and
abandoned children.  Incorporated in
1979 as a day program for abused
children, Home Safe has taken the lead
in our community by developing the
programs and services necessary to
respond to the growing needs of children
and families.  Our early programs
formed a unique and noteworthy
continuum of care.
Conner’s Nursery, a
shelter for HIV / AIDS infected infants and
children and the Simon C. Fireman
Home Safe Center, an examination and
interview center for young victims of
violence were the first programs of their
kind in Palm Beach County.  Today we
have expanded our service continuum to
include programs for youth who require
specialized therapeutic residential care,
foster care, independent living skills,
counseling and support groups for adult
and child victims of domestic violence,
and services for at risk children under
the age of five.  Today we serve over a
1000 clients annually and  accept
referrals from all Florida counties.
The vision and plan put into motion by the founders of The Children’s Place at Home Safe continues to guide and inform the work we
accomplish today.  Our commitment to developing and implementing innovative solutions to meet  the ever changing needs of the
children and families of our community, even when state or local resources are unavailable, continues to be our hallmark.
Who We Are
Where We Stand
Today Home Safe provides a complete system of care for children who have been sexually, physically and emotionally abused.   Our
services include foster care and adoption licensing and support, including placement  for medically fragile children, therapeutic
residential care and the only Specialized Therapeutic Group Care program in Palm Beach County.   In keeping with our early founder’s
vision, Home Safe operates a highly individualized therapeutic Independent Living Program for youth preparing to age out of state
funded foster care.  In addition, for victims of family violence, Home Safe partners with the State Attorney’s Office to provide individual
and group counseling  and victims advocacy.

The next frontier in our effort to end child abuse, one child at a time, is prevention.  In 2009, Home Safe was selected by the Children’s
Services Council of Palm Beach County as the entry agency for children ages birth to five years in the
Healthy Beginnings System of
Care. This innovative research based program focuses services on primary prevention and early intervention utilizing a collaborative
umbrella of community agencies. Home Safe is excited and proud to be a part of this brand new system of care.
